AFTERMATH (6 Game Turns): The Kesselschlacht in the Tractor Works had been a great German success, although the Russians did take gruesome losses they still inflicted severe depletion and exhaustion in the German ranks and provided enough time for STAVKA to prepare the defense in the south. After some time for rest and refit, the OKH call on its commanders to repeat the successful attack of - Kesselschlacht - in the next factory sector south of the Tractor Work - the RED BARRICADES. The Germans assault of combined arms across the relative open terrain by the German foot soldiers, artillery , Stuka planes and two panzer pltns made rapid advance, despite the hail of small arms fire, machine gun fire , two Russian artillery (80mm), that tried to contain their advance. A timely cease fire for the Russians , stopped the German advancement, the wounded were evacuated (including a German 9-1 Ldr wounded by a booby trap).

Not for certain but did the Germans make some really good progress? I haven't played RB in over a decade. They seem to have penetrated along the rail line a great deal.

I would say for a 6 Turns RB CG scenario the German achievements are average both in regards to perimeter and losses for both sides.

AFTERMATH (8 Game Turns): The fighting raged on throughout the whole day and two factories fell into German hands that also gained a strong foothold in a third. The Two hidden T-70 dug-in tanks revelaed themselves during the battle and were quickly rushed by a German squad (548) and togheter with a fanatic (1-4-10) hero eliminated one tank after the other.  Booby traps eliminated two German HS and killed one leader and wounded another leader that was evacuated after the battle. The Russian minefield was cleared (needed a dr of 1).

AFTERMATH (6 Game Turns): A Misty and wet morning in Stalingrad. The today´s battle became a dual attack and the Russian gained the initiative at the beginning of the battle (German set up first, Russian Move first), the Russian artillery support of two battailion OBA modules, delivered several devastating well-aimed strikes upon the German forces. One artillery worked upon the German troops at the Volga sector and allowed the Russian to counter attack and regained terrain recently lost, while the other artillery, west of the factories  stopped the German attack that crawled downstairs to the cellar basement to get more protected vs the artillery blasts. The Russian Set DC (Z2) fizzeled out, to the dismay to the Russian commander in the Volga sector. In the two factories the battle ended with the Russian losing some of the factory halls to the German slowly grinding forward with sheer volume of fire and close combats.

AFTERMATH (5 Game Turns): A German Pionier Coy brought in during the night resumes the assault in the two large factories with the support of two Sturm Companies, a gruesome up close fighting is the order of the day with hissing flamethrowers, the rattling sound of machine gun fire, hand grenades thrown at each other and German demo charges exploding to create breaches in the factories interior walls to be able to infiltrate the Russian positions and force them to withdraw and lose another 40-80 meters of the factory to the Germans, the Stuka Ace Rudel flew his plane above a Factory and bombed a Russian positions in it, killing many with a direct hit, but jammed the machine gun during the same dive-attack and flew directly home to base. the other two Stuka planes stayed longer and supported the assault and watched the open terrain like hawks and punished careless enemy, moving about. At the Volga sector, the German probing attack towards the Chemist Shop (X10) came to a halt when a hidden dúg-in T-60 opened fire at the advancing Germans, although the Germans managed to expand their perimeter and also reached the Volga shore (buckets of fresh water, were fetched during the night). At the Railway embankment sector the battle became a stalemate and mostly, exchange of fire occurred during the day.

Hmmm det där tre-hex-huset uppe i nordöstr hörnet W10 X9 X10 

Det känns oerhört viktigt i spelet, är det någon som vet lite mer om det huset ... ?

 

Stod ingenting eller extremt lite i "island of fire" men det verkar lite bortglömt.

 

Som sagt i spelet känns det som om det är avgörande för försvaret i nordöst, vilket jag brukar tycka då jag försöker befästa det från dag 1 o framåt

AFTERMATH (6 Game Turns): After a day of rest and reinforcement build-up. The German main effort targeted the factory sector and the river sector. German observation plane blasted the Chemist shop and the area outside of the building, with 150+mm artillery knocking out both a hidden T-70 tankette and rubbled a wooden building, that eliminated an AT Gun with crew , still the Russian defenders could not be defeated despite their losess in the end the building catch fire after several artillery hits and the Russians had to abandoned the shop. The spotter plane also calls in pre-reg artilley fire upon the Russian defenders in a factory and eliminate the last resistance in it, the last units are forced to rout through the artillery in the street outside, few survived the carnage. In the large factory the Milita troops were no match for the professionals. Russian artillery observers performed poorly, and were revealed and eliminated by German machine gun fire. After 6 days into the campaign the Germans are now in control of 14 of 55 multi-hex buildings & factories, 40 more is in their planning to conquer or destroy.

AFTERMATH (6 Game Turns): A Mild Breeze at start of the battle quickly turned into a heavy wind for the rest of the day. The German concentrated their attack in the factory sector, and steadily pushed and routed the Russian Militia troops that desperatly tried to contain the German advance, all in vain, the Germans completely gained control of one factory and foothold in three new factories and also good progress towards the Commissar House. At the Volga sector a blazing inferno of buildings resulted in that both sides taking almost no actions. 23rd october the German attacked, for the first time, the Red October factory district from the west and also the Red Barricades were to be attacked from the west along a 1000m (25 hexes) new front, the Germans cleared out the Russian defenders and advanced up to the railway embankment were the Russian main line of defense were positioned.

AFTERMATH (6 Game Turns): A build-up occur during the second idle day since the attack started 17 oct, into the Red Barricades steel works. The German main attack was directed towards the Russians, in the factory sector complex and several other stone buildings adjacent to the factories. The Germans called down a Nebelwerfer strike, but scattered and hit few Russians, but did set a factory on fire that rapidly spread and a platoon of Russians would later on be trapped between the German sturm troops and the blazing factories and forced to run through the blaze only to be burned alive. Russians that did escape the blazing factory and the Germans, were routed out into the large debris landscape and attracted some Stuka planes. The Russians few defenders in the Gutted Chemist Shop engaged the Germans in CC, except for a group that fled through the sewers, a German troop was blown up by a set DC in the newly conquered building. A more defensive position were taken along the railway embankment and only some small-scale attacks were carried out and easily repulsed by the Russians, that even started to counter-attack, but a cease-fire ended any further attempts.

Notice that both sides have the same amount of troops after the CG scenario.

’Började’ använda dem på 90-talet, mer än 25 år sedan. Här ser du alla 6-askarna, det var då jag spelade 3 kampanjer samtidigt. Har mellan askarna förstärkt upp med tjock-ark och fräschar ibland upp fram och bak ytorna med nyklistrat tjock-ark, använder nuförtiden original-mini-kart-arken, eller utslitna IFT tabeller, etc.
Bra förbättring är även att fördela upp några askar med två fack i samma tändsticksask.

Används även när andra kampanjer spelas, den som spelar engländare eller jänkare, brukar den ryska förvaringen.

AFTERMATH (7 Game Turns): A Bloodbath occurred in an inferno of blazing buildings. Stuka bombers struck Russian Assault Engineers in a roofless factory and killed 35 elite soldiers at the opening stages of the battle and destroyed their 3 LMG and their Leader in the two direct hits conducted by two Stukas. A Russian Btln MTR directed by an Offb´d Observer bombed the German troops in the factory complex (6B/2R, Black, Red, Black, Red). Three buildings were Rubbled along the front by Russian Set DCs and a half Coy of German soldiers perished, and simultaneously a German placed DC, rubbled a hex with 30 soldiers led by a Commissar. There were no stops to the casualties taken place and corpses piled up, along the street, ditches, and indoors, and mild breeze started a smoke screen and luckily for the Russians blinded the German all out assault against the last big factory in Russian Control, they tried to attack regardless of the smoke, but the Russian SMG squads repulsed German assault troops entering the factory in bloody hand-to-hand combat and point-blank fire stopped any further attempts.

At the Bread factory area the German attack went better and managed to break the Russian defense line with the help of two panzer platoons, the Russian were forced into a rout and conducted a slow bloody fighting withdrawal with the German companies in pursuit, backed up by their panzer, blasting the Russian positions into submission and also supported by a German Btln MTR directed by an Offb´d Observer (8B/3R, Red, Red, Black, Red, Black, Red).

In the Volga sector the Germans planned no attack and only tried to hold their gains, but a Russian medium artillery 120+mm started to blast Germans positions with pre-registered fire (6B/2R pulled Black, Black, Black, Black, Black, Red, Red), and conducted first a probing attack vs German positions under the effective artillery that never ceased to pound the Germans to death and in the middle of the battle an all out assault were conducted and German immediately sent reinforcements from the central factory sector and the Stuka started to get very active in the area as many Russian troops soldiers were seen crossing relative open ground despite losses inflicted by the Stuka planes that to a great extent managed to save many German soldiers from being annihilated and also halted the Russian forces from reaching any of the big factory halls.

AFTERMATH (8 Game Turns): Overcast for the first time since the German assault into the Red Barrikady started. In the Bread Factory sector (between the gullies in the south. The Germans attacked in mass and suffered early losses due to a Set DC that killed of a Kampfgruppe and a Panzer was knocked out by a hidden Russian Dug-In T-70 that scored a flank hit at close range, but still the German stampede overtook former Russian positions and forced them into a bloody retreat. In the factory halls and along the Volga sectors the Germans slowly and successfully attacked and advanced forward, reclaiming control of area recently lost the previous day to a Russian counter-attack and also captured several new buildings.

The Germans have brought in 17 Coy (10 Rifle Coy, 5 Sturm Coy, 2 AE Coy) from the reserve pool (32 Coy in total), 15 more coy (5 coy of each type) can be brought forward to the Kesselschlacht.

AFTERMATH (7 Game Turns): Overcast weather continues for the second day. he Ad hoc coy promised by HQ did not enter today (a dr of 2 or less was needed, see LHR 24), instead, two Russian rifle companies were shipped over and charge towards the front line from the ferry camp, to reinforce and replace casualties along the front.

-  Russian 150+mm artillery is called down on German position in the Bread Factory sector and rubble a hex with German troops and force other Germans that have advanced into the Russian lines, up front, to accept close combat that goes bad for them, since the artillery hindered any sensible retreat. Despite the initial success with the artillery, it is denied Battery Access several times (Black, Red, Red, Red, Black, Black, Red) and its last fire mission strikes friendly troops and eliminates two Russian squads (scatters from pre-reg hex in wrong direction 3 hexes). The perimeter of the area is much the same as from the start, due to the Hvy Arty.

Along the rest of the perimeter (factory sector to the Volga sector) both sides slug it out and little gains are made, except along the shoreline where the Russians are pushed back 250m, and the German have started to outflank the Commissar House. In the attack against the Red House, another name for it, two times a German squad becomes berserk and charge towards it, almost as if frustrated by the fanatical defenders that easily pumped lead at them, at point-blank range as they bounced against the walls and denied entry into the fortified building.

Tysken kan bara kalla in 9 coy de nästföljande 9 dagarna (30 Oct - 7 Nov). 8-11 Nov, kan de sista 4 AE coy tas in. 12-15 Nov bör coy vara slut.

Ryssen kan kalla in 22 coy till gentemot tyskens 13 ovan. Vi får se om tysken kan slutföra anfallet, återstår att ta kontroll på en stor fabrik, och 8 multi-hex buildings.

AFTERMATH (7 Game Turns): The German intention today is made clear as several German elite infantry formations attacked the last Russian controlled factory hall in the area with support of panzers and heavy artillery.  200 fanatic Russian soldiers, mostly Militia, opened fired and desperate protective fire to held off the aggressor, the Germans suffered early losses entering into the factory. A Pz IIIH is knocked out and burst into blaze as a hidden Russian T-70 opens fire, but is quickly eliminated in close combat by stosstruppen. heavy artillery directed by a spotter plane starts to blast the Russian troops both inside and outside the factory and the defenders quickly crumble, and soon the factory fall into full German control, although not without significant losses. The only survivor among the factory defender is a Russian officer that routed out from it the others that also routed out are moved down as they attempt to cross the street of fire, Thereafter, the German continue to push further east of the factory hall towards the wooden buildings area where the Russian scramble a new defense line ,many thanks to the sole survivor from the factory, and tough fighting continue until the battle ends. At the Bread factory area down south, the Germans launch a probing attack but first when the factory have been conquered, and comes to a halt when the Russian reserves are activated.

In the Commissar House - Apothecary - Volga sector, the Germans have planned a more defensive mode. The Russian call down a barrage (9 hexes - 360 m) along the German front line and successfully blast several of these defenders into bits, and the Russians are quick to launch an attack after the barrage have been lifted and eliminates the last pockets of defense in the frontline building. The German spotter plane start to call down heavy artillery upon the Commissar House, Apothecary and other buildings, several of them catch fire and at the same time the Russian offb´d Observer call down artillery upon the Germans. Towards the end of the battle, several single hex buildings around the Commissar House is taken control by the Russians, due to the many machine guns raking the German defense line that are also hammered by the artillery. Another bloody battle for both sides and the Germans still pushes towards the Volga, minor victories and accomplishment by the Russians do not change that fact.

AFTERMATH (5 Game Turns): The German attack resume and put pressure along the whole enemy front line, trying to punch a hole anywhere. The hole do appear, south of the oil storage tanks some accurate MG fire breaks several Russian defenders in the only stone multi-hex building in the area, the German Coy commander sense an opportunity to seize the building and declare a charge, in the charge several hidden Russian units opens fire and desperately try to stop the Germans, but the building is captured although half the German Coy have been eliminated in the charge. Along the Volga shore, bitter fighting erupt throughout the day, but no side yields any ground.

In the central sector, the German probing attack goes slowly and suddenly the theater outside the Commissar House explodes (set DC) and falling rubble destroy the German-built trench in the street, 25 German soldiers are eliminated in the theater and trench. Then later on a Human Wave is declared, and 60 Russian Conscripts led by a Commissar came charging westward out of the Commissar house and succeed to capture some German positions. The Commissars are recalled from the front line after today's battle and replaced with newly-trained officers.

OKH have sent a message: The next 7 days (1-7 Nov) they only have 3 Rifle Coy, 3 Sturm Coy and 1 Pionier Coy to send to the front line. Then the Reserve pool is emptied, 4 fresh Pioneer Coy being flown from Germany are on its way, they will reach Stalingrad and the front line between 8-12 November.

Try to erase and shrink the Russian stronghold into pockets, and then the Pioneers can finish off the last resistance pockets. Paulus wants his promotion to Field marshal, it depends on you.

Then we can concentrate and resume our attack on the Red October district and erase the Martinovski to rubble. God Luck and shake the dice well, only precision dice can do it.

Efteranalys, tysken fick en bra start med 8 Turns andra CG Day, och tittade på matematiken för CPP Replenishment, första veckan (18 - 23 Oct) där tysken slår fram mellan 6-7 CPP mer på sex DR slag än ryssen i snitt. Tror att det spelade roll i slutändan, om det varit tvärtom att CG Day 18 Oct hade varit 5 Turns istället och ryssen fått 6-7 CPP mer än tysken istället, första veckan hade kampanjen nog fortsatt till fjärde veckan.

Kommer tillkomma några nya Leaflet House rules som vi diskuterar fram och tänkt att spela med hädanefter.

- Första blir att båda slår varsitt CPP Replenishment DR och använder det högre DR av de två slagen.

Exempel: första 6 CG Days one player roll a string of

DR 10, 11, 7, 10, 9, 5 samtidigt som den andra spelaren slår en serie av

DR 3, 6, 7, 4, 3, 8 Ett bevis på att ett fåtal slag kan tilta en kampanj.

Med den ny regeln ska det inte kunna hända och då gäller de följande DR om båda spelarna slog DR som ovan.

DR 10, 11, 7, 10, 9, 8 Fördelen blir även att kampanjen blir mer snabbspelad och mindre i omfattning.
