Day one - 17 Oct, German Assault, Clear, Moderate, no wind (Balance R5 in play).

German at start OB (ELR:4, SAN:3) OBA: Btln MTR 80+mm, two Pre-Registered Hexes & Offb´d Observer. Hvy Arty 150+mm, Offb'd Observer, Rifle 1st Coy, Sturm 1st & 2nd Coy, Pz IIIL pltn.

German OB: 11 Leaders, 3 Pz IIIL, 36 squad-equivalents (24x 5-4-8 Elite squads, 12x 4-6-7 First Line squads), 16 SWs (1 HMG, 3 MMG, 6 LMG, 1 ATR, 1 Lt MTR, 4 DC).

Russian at start OB (ELR:3, SAN:3) Rifle 1st & 2nd & 3rd(R) & 4th(R) Coy, SMG 1st Coy, 100 FPP: HIP 4 squads & 4 Ldr, 6 Dummies, one 6 A-P mine-field, 6 Fortified Locations.

Russian OB: 8 Leaders, 2x AT 45LL, 58 Squad-equivalents (2x 228 Crews, 48x 4-4-7 1st-Line, 9x 5-2-7 1st-Line), 20 SWs (4 MMG, 8 LMG, 4 ATR, 4 Lt MTR).

AFTERMATH (6 Turns): The Germans enter the area for the first time and assault straight towards the Red Halls. Two artillery modules hammer the central sector at start and the German infantry advance without much opposition behind the artillery screens and mop up the area. Later on both German artillery modules start to blast the Russian defenders in the Volga sector and inflict more casualties and also torch the area and several buildings are set ablaze. About half of the Russian casualties was caused by the artillery, also note that the Offb'd Observers pulled 9 black chits, it seemed that the artillery stock piles were available in abundance. 

German Casualties: 2 Leaders, 3 Squad-equivalents, 2 SWs.

Russian Casualties: 1 Leader, 17 Squad-equivalents, 5 SWs, 1 Gun.

German OB, end of 17 Oct (SAN:3) 9 Ldr, 3 Pz IIIL, 33 Squad-equivalents (23..5 Elite, 9.5 1st/2nd-Line), 14 SWs (1 HMG, 2 MMG, 6 LMG, 1 Lt MTR, 4 DC). 

Russian OB, end of 17 Oct (SAN:3) 7 Ldr, AT 45LL, 41 Squad-equivalents (1 Crew, 1 Elite, 33.5 1st-Line, 6 Conscripts), 15 SW (1 MMG, 7 LMG, 3 ATR, 4 Lt MTR).
