armstrong619 Re: So what scenarios have you played Recently? Just finished an evening's game with Steve Anderson of SV12: Trap by Mishap. When Steve suggested this scenario, I told him I'd played it as the Russians and would like the Axis if we played it, though the ROAR record is pro-Axis on a small sample. Despite the fact that both times I've played it, the Axis has won, my feeling is that this is pretty nicely balanced, but many players are afraid of taking too many bog checks. Steve certainly isn't, as he crashed KVs through the woods willy-nilly, passing every bog check with aplomb. The game came down to the very last movement phase, with the last Russian squad that needed to exit having to take a more dangerous route past the last defending Swedish squad when their accompanying 9-1 pinned and they lost the two bonus MFs. They failed in their valiant attempt to earn the Order of Lenin, leaving Steve with his one needed tank but only three of his needed four squads having exited. As Maxwell Smart would say: "missed it by that much." Great game, great opponent and, IMO, great scenario. Having played this one twice, I've seen two completely different games, and would take either side in future playings. And you have to love any scenario where both sides enter from the same board edge on Turn 1! Thumbs way up.
