AFTERMATH (6 Turns): Today's battle went from bad to a catastrophe. Russian OBA 5B/2R pulled 3 red chits in a row, then one black chit, then another 3 red chits in a row, still remains 4B/1R end of day, Naval-rotation-OBA used in Copenhagen would have ended with a draw pile of about 4B/14R or 5B/15R. Other battle events went poorly, and the Germans have almost 11 objectives, and the Russian OB is much depleted, and give up, German Victory achieved. German Casualties: 5 Ldr, 7 Sq-eq, 9 SWs, 1Gun. Russian Casualties: 12 Ldr, 42.5 Sq-eq, 9 SWs. 2. "Wanted to use the LHR which look like a huge improvement. But since there is no LHR for that CG, they thought how they should proceed and adept them to this CG". Answered that we have looked at the CG and had some ideas to try out if we would play that CG. Compiled the LHR into a new document for the RO CG II and presented it to him. The response was. "Thanks Melvin. We will try it with your suggestions and let you know. Very much appreciated!"

    Birds of Prey 1940

    Birds of Prey 1940

  10. All the B1-bis in the French 2nd edition module is misprinted, circle 8 armor factor should be printed Red for being a large target (instead of black).
  13. Day eight - 24 October, German Assault, Clear, Wet, no wind. German Reinforcements: Rifle 7th Coy, Heavy Weapon 2nd pltn, STUKA (3). German OB (ELR:4, SAN:2) 20 Leaders, 4x GrW 34, 2x Pz IIIH, 70.5 Squad-equivalents (11 Crews, 4 Assault Pionier, 42 Elite, 19 1st/2nd-Line), 41 SWs (4 HMG, 12 MMG, 15 LMG, 1 ATR, 2 Lt MTR, 7 DC). Russian Reinforcements: Rifle 7th Coy (R), SMG 6th Coy (R), SMG 7th Coy (R), SAN increase, OBA: Two Btln MTR 80+mm. Russian OB (ELR: 3, SAN: 3) 27 Leaders, 2x INF 76mm, 1x MTR 82mm, 2x T-60 M42, 112.5 Squad-equivalents (5 Crews, 20 Elite, 74.5 1st-Line, 15.5 Con), 19 SWs (1 HMG, 3 MMG, 5 LMG, 4 ATR, 6 Lt MTR). AFTERMATH (6 Turns): The main German assault effort is in the central factory hall area. The gruesome battle takes a heavy toll upon the Russians that try to stem the tide and halt the German advance that clear out section after section of the factory halls. Along the Railway embankments, the German reinforcements storm the buildings close to the lumberyard field, and the few Russian defenders make an escape down to the Bread factory area. That is also under attack, but not very aggressive, and halted in the wooden buildings next to the Russian-occupied stone buildings. Along the Volga, a stalemate develops rather quickly, and fire is exchanged between the two sides, not much happens, until a light mortar critical hit and eliminates two German HS and two MMG in the Chemist Shop. German Casualties: 4 Ldr, 15 Sq-eq, 9 SWs, 1 Gun. Russian Casualties: 6 Ldr, 37.5 Sq-eq, 4 SWs, 1 Gun, 1 AFV. German OB, end of 24 Oct (SAN:2) 16 Leaders, 3x GrW 34, 2x Pz IIIH, 55.5 Squad-equivalents (11 Crews, 3.5 Assault Pionier, 29.5 Elite, 17 1st/2nd-Line), 32 SWs (4 HMG, 8 MMG, 13 LMG, 2 Lt MTR, 5 DC). Russian OB, end of 24 Oct (SAN:3) 21 Leaders, 1x INF 76mm, 1x MTR 82mm, 1x T-60 M42, 75 Squad-equivalents (3 Crews, 10.5 Elite, 54 1st-Line, 9 Conscripts), 15 SWs (1 HMG, 1 MMG, 5 LMG, 3 ATR, 5 Lt MTR). LOSSES 17-24 October (6+6+6+6+6+0+6+6= 42 Turns) Total German Casualties: 22 Ldr, 104.5 Sq-Eq, 44 SWs, 5 Guns, 4 AFVs. Total Russian Casualties: 19 Ldr, 176.5 Sq-Eq, 35 SWs, 5 Guns, 11 AFVs.
  14. Mitt första wargame ca 1 år innan Squad Leader.
  15. Noterat och undanlagt.
  16. Jag räknar med att sälja av hälften.
  18. Russian Victory, any further attempts to attack have been canceled by the Germans, that only managed to gain control of 4 objectives during 8 CG days (of which one was an Idle day) and need 10 to win. Only 3 CG Days remains to attack (18-21 Turns), little time left to achieve VCs. Second playing of this CG, despite RB CG I, being the same as RB CG III. The VCs (take at least 10 buildings of 20 possible) and time limits change everything. Have now started a third CG of this new CG, played 7 CG (of which one was an idle day). 4 CG days remains for the Germans to attack, 6 Objectives taken, 2 more objectives about to be taken, then it remains 2 more that have to be taken with brute force.
  19. Day six - 22 October, Idle Day. Germ Idle Day Reinforcements: Sturm 3rd & 4th Coy (R). Russ Idle Day Reinforcements: Gds Rifle 1st Coy (R), Gds SMG 3rd (R). Day seven - 23 October, German Assault, Overcast, Wet, Mild Breeze. Germ Reinforcements: Sturm 5th Coy, OBA: Two Nebelwerfer 150+mm, each with a Pre-Reg Hex. German OB (ELR:4, SAN:2) 21 Leaders, INF 75mm, 2x GrW 34, 3x Pz IIIH, 78 Squad-equivalents (6 Crews, 6.5 Assault Pionier, 53 Elite, 15.5 1st/2nd-Line), 40 SWs (2 HMG, 10 MMG, 15 LMG, 2 Lt MTR, 11 DC). Russ Reinforcements: Rifle 5th & 6th Coy (R), SMG 5th Coy (R), T-60 M42 Dug-In pltn, OBA: Two Btln MTR 80+mm. Fortifications 40 FPP: AT-Ditch, HIP one squad & a Leader with a wired-detonator to a Set DC. Russian OB (ELR: 3, SAN: 3) 23 Leaders, 2x INF 76mm, 2x MTR 82mm, 3x T-60 M42 Dug-In, 119 Squad-equivalents (7 Crews, 26 Elite, 64.5 1st-Line, 25 Con), 22 SWs (2 HMG, 3 MMG, 7 LMG, 4 ATR, 5 Lt MTR, 1 DC). AFTERMATH (6 Turns): The Germans concentrate their strength and attack the cluster of the remaining 6 Red halls in Russian Control. Two rocket nebelwerfer strike down and blast the red halls and the blast area overlap and eliminate almost a whole Russian company in a matter of moments, mostly factory workers formed into Militia companies. Although, the halls catch fire and starts to spread, making it difficult for the German assault teams to exploit the initial shock and carnage among the Russians. A Russian artillery helps out as several blasts are directed at German assault teams that suffer casualties and retreat, although the German regroup and jab punches at the long-stretched-factory-hall and gained at least footholds in it. The German assault east of the railway embankments goes well, as a German sniper early on eliminate a Commissar in the two-story building. The Russian start to panic and try to retreat with discipline. But fails as the German breaks their spirit and pursuit them through buildings that falls into German hands. The attack came to a halt when the German enters the Red Hall next to the large field of debris. A German 548 squad CC a pinned Russian 226 HS and is eliminated as a Russian Field Promotion 8-1 Ldr step forward and eliminate the squad. German conduct its first probing attack towards the Bread Factory area. Activate some Russian reserves, as Russian artillery starts to hammer German troops and a building blow up with a German squad inside. Now, the Russians launch a counterattack and force the enemy to the map edge where they entered. German Casualties: 4 Ldr, 22.5 Sq-eq, 8 SWs, 1 Gun, 1 AFV. Russian Casualties: 2 Ldr, 36.5 Sq-eq, 8 SWs, 1 Gun, 1 AFV. German OB, end of 23 Oct (SAN:2) 17 Leaders, 2x GrW 34, 2x Pz IIIH, 55.5 Squad-equivalents (5 Crews, 4 Assault Pionier, 42 Elite, 7 1st/2nd-Line), 32 SWs (2 HMG, 9 MMG, 13 LMG, 1 Lt MTR, 7 DC). Russian OB, end of 23 Oct (SAN:2) 21 Leaders, 2x INF 76mm, MTR 82mm, 2x T-60 M42, 82.5 Squad-equivalents (5 Crews, 20 Elite, 44.5 1st-Line, 15.5 Con), 14 SWs (1 HMG, 2 MMG, 3 LMG, 3 ATR, 5 Lt MTR). LOSSES 17-23 October (6+6+6+6+6+0+6= 36 Turns) Total German Casualties: 18 Ldr, 89.5 Sq-Eq, 35 SWs, 4 Guns, 4 AFVs. Total Russian Casualties: 13 Ldr, 139 Sq-Eq, 31 SWs, 4 Guns, 10 AFVs.
  20. We think Greenwoods writing is as clear it can be, only a re-write of an errata would change that, think your alone or in a small minority, about the rule not being clear.
  21. Played VotG CG upon its release about 6+months, and the Germans have plenty of this type of FlaK vehicles, and our understanding was that the RFP, attack the sides. Ex: a FlaK pz armor assault with a 467, fired upon front CA with 4 FP (-1 DRM and +1 AFV=0 blank). Another FlaK wagon armor assault with a 468, into the 2 RFP and Attacked, the FlaK veh as if unarmored and -2 DRM vs the 468 squad. Playtested the popcorn scenario Bidermann's Escape with these 2 FlaK wagen about 30 times with over 10 players (all players In my area), notified M Rönnblom about this RFP issue and he agreed with me. Reading rule D5.31 at start perhaps explain it better, A CE crew is normally entitled to a +2 DRM due to the partial protection afforded by the AFV but some AFV receive more protection or less depending upon the target facing /aspect through which they are fired upon. Another FrF scenario Mounted Madness (not released) have two German FlaK Pz I (non-official counters) that the Germans had about 250 of these veh and only with front armor, on the East Front.
  22. Although your article still read 4FP +2 DRM, my point being is that the German FlaK wagen only have front armor (not lika a Marder that also have side armor). The CE crew would take a Residual 4 FP attack vs an unarmored vehicle, since rule D5.31 reads "Non-Fire Lane Residual FP attack receive the CE DRM that applies to the Side Target Facing. "Non-Fire Lane Residual FP attack receive the CE DRM that applies to the Side Target Facing."
  23. C3.2 ....A vehicle facing is called its Covered Arc (CA) and is derived by placing the counter such that its depicted vehicle front points directly at one of the six hexspines of its current hex.
