SA3 STORM FROM THE NORTH A former Deluxe scenario and very unbalanced to say the least, a German assault that takes it slow and steady will grind the Russians to dust with the help of the German Panzer. It was converted in early 2001 into a non-deluxe scenario (i.e., boards 45, 51 are used), and released 2008. Very different in how the battle plays out, and of course, with more maneuver than before. New VCs, Set up instructions, SSRs, etc. When I was new to ASL we thought the meaty Order of Battles looked great and wanted to play them, but got tired of the limited space on the Deluxe boards (a contradiction in itself). The Goal with the conversion were to keep the OB and Turn length in its original form released by Avalon Hill. Often we have found that large scenarios are often unbalanced. Believe the playtesting is much more work. Made a great effort to have it tested, and not guess-worked upon. SA2 SPOILS OF WAR New scenario, came into being, after playing a micro-armor landscape battle at a convention in 1996. Two of us (ASL players), played the German side and two miniature players played the Russians (one Russian commander was later replaced ). Enjoyed it and looked into the time frame of the micro-armor scenario played. 2nd Battle of Kharkov 12-28 May -42 The Barvenkovo Bulge, a total disaster for the Red Army lost nearly 300 000 and equipment vs German losses of 20 000, and found it an interesting and very large battle. Transformed the Micro-Armor scenario into a scenario for ASL.

SA1 BLAZING BORDERS Updated, upscaled to a larger scenario, and a better historical version. No German MGs, been replaced. No Finnish 20L ATR & Pipe Grenades, not available the first day of the Winter War. Doubled the number of Finnish squads to 24x 6-4-8, tripled the number of Russian squads from 26 to 75x 4-4-7 and doubled the number of Russian T26S M37 to 12 AFVs. Increased the Border with one board, now the Russians attack along 30 hexes (instead of 20), 1200 meters, 600m on each side of the only road, Added five overlays to the boards. Deleted the 6 Russian trucks. New VCs, Set up instructions, decreased the number of turns from 13 to 11.5 Turns. Among many other changes. Started with these updates 1997, to make a large scenario to be played in about 12 hours, only intended for my own amusement and play with friends. The playtesting (mostly solo) have been over the ordinary, still I play fast and even much faster playtesting solo. See LINK: https://forum.aslsweden.com/index.php?/topic/3392-sa1a-blazing-borders/ ASL 123 THE BORDERS ARE BURNING Previously as A10, but not updated by MMP, only added errata to the scenario. Errata: the Russian icon should be of an T-26S M37, not an T-60 M40.

AFTERMATH (6 Game Turns): The weather becomes clear and the rainy days are gone. But the Germans call in rain drops of 150mm artillery shells, one directed from an observer with fieldphone that bomb the fanatic building nest during the whole battle (5 black chits in a row), the building tremble and shake in its foundation but still stand, but eventually catch fire and the whole building is set ablaze. The other Hvy Arty 150+mm guided by the Spotter plane bomb the area around the fanatic building and destroys a whole trench-line (5) and bleed the Russians dry. Russian reinforcement is the last coy that is an Assault Enginner Coy lost 50% of its men during the battle. Stuka planes led by a 10-2 Stuka ace dive and drop bombs and rake the ground, eliminating several Russians squads. The Russian OBA 120+mm helped to stall German assault teams from moving forward and caused casulties if they did. German Casualties: 0 Ldr, 6.5 Sq-eq, 1 SW. In the later stage of the battle the Russian launch a local counterattack in the north sector and the Germans retreat with the Russians in pursuit, but cease fire occured before the Russians could gain any substantial terrain. 9. Red Barricades - Stalingrad 1942 CG I (11 CG Days) LEAFLET HOUSE RULES (see link) https://forum.aslsweden.com/index.php?/topic/4126-lhr-red-barricades-red-october/
The CE crew would take a Residual 4 FP +2 General Collateral attack. This is not an attack against an unarmored vehicle, since the AFV is partially armored and there is no directionality to a Residual FP attack." Texten bör bytas ut mot följande: "The CE crew would take a Residual 4 FP attack vs an unarmored vehicle, since rule D5.31 reads "Non-Fire Lane Residual FP attack receive the CE DRM that applies to the Side Target Facing." I detta fall har, Target Facing of the Turret, ingen betydelse.
  11. Updates to the Leaflet House Rules the last 2 years after playing nearly a dozen CGs with veterans and new players to the Barrikady, after input and discussions. GAME END: A CG scenario can no longer end on Game Turn 5 and 8. End of Game Turn 6 it will end on a dr < 4, otherwise it ends Game Turn 7. Calculated 24 CG Days, with the original rule it would be in total about 152 (151.7) Turns. With the new LHR the total of Game Turns is 152 Turns. The chance that a CG tilt, due to two days in a row with only 5 Turns or 8 Turns, have now been removed. FACTORIES: How Residual FP plays out in factories contrary to how MMP changed (by someone that hardly do not play with this rule) that creates silly moving about among the factories to subdue the effect of Residual FP. The original rule by Avalon Hill was played by all I know with common sense (i.e., how the house rule is written). There is no LOS between a Factory Rooftop and the same-hex ground-level. RUBBLE: Rubble, Printed Rubble and Fallen Rubble have now been clarified since rubble is treated as buildings during the RtPh. STUKA: Now make a dr (not DR) on the Armor Leader table to see which STUKA Ace might be received (no STUKA Ace on a dr of 6). OBA: Observers with a Radio, HIP for free as if it was a Phone. ONE SW ELIMINATION: Each side must eliminate one functioning SW of their choice, after each scenario played. Added to further decrease the amount of SWs gathered as the CG progress and keep up with the ratio between soldiers and SWs. Mostly, ATRs will be the choice to be eliminated after each scenario played. Simply imagine that the supply of ammo to ATRs is not prioritized. This House rule also speeds up play to some extent. STILL HIDDEN UNITS: On a final CG Day at start of Game Turn 5, all HIP units are placed on-map concealed. Similar to units being eliminated in Sewers, turn 5 on the final CG Day. RB CGI - INTO THE FACTORY: Updated and much better VCs. The CG I - Into The Factory is now added to the LHR and provides a shorter CG of the CG III - The Barrikady. Both CG starts off in the same manner. The problem with the CG I, was its VCs, that have been replaced with new VCs, also shortened the CG with 2 CG days - 17-27 Oct (i.e., deleted 28-29 Oct) and as a consequence decreased the number of Infantry Reinforcements Groups available. The VCs are derived after going over all stats and perimeter from all the CG III played in recent years. Never played CG I before, but It's not really true, since the 100+ CG III played (vs 10+players), starts and continues in exactly the same manner, although the different VCs will determine the long term goal/planning. Last note, if CG I - INTO THE FACTORY is about to come to a conclusion, and you both think that the CG should continue beyond 27 October, then you simply shift over and continue to play CG III THE BARRIKADY (or start over with CG I again).

AFTERMATH (6 Game Turns): During a day of rest, both sides bring in reinforcements. The Germans have gathered 17x 8-3-8 squads burden with flamethrowers and plenty of demo charges, the main attack is aimed at the last Russian controlled Row house and into the worker settlement's cluster of wooden buildings. The Russian first line of defense is crushed easily and as the Germans encounter the second line of defense many hand-to-hand close combats occurs. As the Germans reach the third line of defense, the Germans encounter 4 guns that open fire and causing severe losses and also knocked out two Panzer. Before three of the guns is eliminated. Russian reinforcements have reached the combat zone from the ferry camp, and after a short period of time the Russian force have lost more than 50% of this force during their first day in Stalingrad. At the Oil storage area, the Germans have set up a perimeter to contain the Russians and fire at the Fanatic building and elsewhere, and even discover a bunker located 150m from the building. The Russians called down artillery fire from two artillery modules and place a barrage to hinder the Germans from movement (retreat/reinforce). As the Russians see the German lines crumble and start retreating from their front line. The Russian start attacking and three hidden PaK 38 start to open fire at point-blank range and eliminates several squads, but mostly conscripts that are in the front of the attack to suck up German firepower. As the Russian elite troops follow up and eliminated the three guns. The Germans dispatch a platoon of reinforcements to halt the Russian attack. Another bloody day, both sides wonder how this will end, as request for much more reinforcements, are denied for each side. The Germans now only have two Assault Engineers coy left in the reserve, and the Russians only have 3 Guards Elite coy left in the reserve.
