Göran Andersson
Hej Hej, Where there any SWEDISH forces in Norway during WW II ? Hi! Trying to write a short ansver that is maybe 90% correct. When the Swedish voluntary corp in Finland was dismissed in march and april 1940 many of the troopers was disappointed the didn´t arrive in combat until the war was over. Some 500 norvegians was embedded into the swedish corp. When the were under transport back from Finland they got the message in the 9:th of april that Norway was under attack. Most of the Norwegians and if i remember correctly some 100 swedes joined them. However this was not an official mission. There were some fightings the next few weeks until southern norway was occupied. Most of them whitdraw back into sweden and then some of them took their way up to the north in Narvik. Taking part in the fightings thereOne of them was Alann Mann that you can read about in these links. http://www.aftonbladet.se/vss/nyheter/stor...,762311,00.htmlhttp://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=63337 Some individual swedes including Alann Mann served as a courier for the resistance. A lot of information was all the time send to the brittish embassy in Stockholm. The last year of the war Sweden equipped and trained a Norwegian militia force (a few thousend men) to be used later. Ther was also ready plans for a swedish invasion into Norway, but the Geman forces in Norway surrendered whitout that invasion.

I think the training of the Norweigan "police" and "reserve police" started in 1943 already.
