AFTERMATH 17 Oct (6 Turns): The German planned attack into the Red Barrikady area was conducted with three companies of mostly elite troops, supported by six Panzers, four armored halftracks, artillery (80+mm Btln MTR), and Stukas. The Soviet defenders fielded five companies—three on the frontline and two holding a reserve line further back—bolstered by two anti-tank guns and artillery (80+mm Btln MTR). As the Germans advanced through the light terrain, the Russians opened fire. Early in the engagement, the German sniper (SAN: 2) struck with precision, eliminating two Russian snipers and reducing the Soviet SAN from 4 to 2. In Turn 2, the halftracks surged forward and unloaded 50 soldiers directly into the fray.
A hidden Russian AT gun targeted an exposed Panzer III but jammed permanently, forcing its crew to abandon it. Near the Triangle House, the Germans uncovered minefields outside the building; in a desperate bid, a Russian squad received orders to close-combat a Pz III parked outside and succeeded in destroying it. Overall, the German assault progressed well, with several buildings captured or footholds gained within them and also captured one factory hall, much due to the German artillery that shattered the defenders as the Commissar was eliminated. Note, the Russian artillery only delivered two fire missions, allowing the Germans to re-group and resume the attack in the Volga sector.

AFTERMATH 18 Oct (6 Turns): The German assault continued into its second day in the Barrikady district. Along the railway embankments, the advance was halted with no significant progress, as Russian battalion artillery relentlessly pounded the German Schwerpunkt assault groups. The only gain was control of the abandoned "triangle house," previously held by the Soviets. Within the factory complex, German forces pushed forward aggressively, inflicting heavy casualties on the defenders. In the Volga sector, they advanced and gained control of more terrain and established a perimeter just outside the Chemist's Shop building. The key to take for any further progress along the Volga sector.

AFTERMATH 19 Oct (6 Turns): For the third consecutive day, the Germans pressed their assault into the factory halls. Now reinforced by two btln morter batteries and Stuka dive-bombers screaming down onto the Soviet defenders, the attack gained fresh momentum. Despite being steadily forced back, the Red Army troops inside the factories refused to break; they clung tenaciously to their positions under crushing pressure from two German sturm coy that pushed forward with grim determination, but many German leaders were either wounded or killed at the factory floor.

In the Volga riverbank sector, a fullstrength company of front-line German infantry achieved a surprising success: after a shoot-out and intense close-quarters fighting, they succeeded in clearing the Soviets from the strongly contested “Chemist’s Shop” building.

Along the railway embankment, however, the front line remained deadlocked.

AFTERMATH 20 Oct (6 Turns): The German had brought four INF Guns during the night to the front line as support. Despite that, the German assault stalled almost immediately, and bloodied along the entire front line, the attackers also suffered more casualties from Russian counterattacks and plenty of booby traps. One Pz III was recalled and the other wrecked.

Subsequent new German assaults were often repelled, and the front line advanced hardly at all or just a little forward during the day’s fighting.

AFTERMATH 21 Oct (6 Turns): On the fifth day of the fierce fighting in the Barrikady factory district, the Germans committed a formidable array of forces: 5 Sturm Coy (60× 548), 3 Rifle Coy (36× 467), 1 HW Pltn, 2 GrW 34, 6 Panzer III, 4 SPW, 4 INF Guns, 13 Stuka, OBA 3 Btln MTR 80+mm.

The Soviets countered this onslaught with an even larger contingent: 3 Militia Coy (45× 426), 6 Rifle Coy (72× 447), 5 SMG Coy (45× 527), 1 Gds SMG Coy (9× 628), 1 HW Wpn pltn, 2× MTR 82mm, 6 AT 45mm, 6 T-70, 3 T-60, fortifications, OBA 2 Btln MTR 80+mm, 2 Lt Arty 70+mm.

The German assault resumed amid heavy rain, with their main thrust aimed at penetrating deeper into the factory complexes while diverting a substantial force toward the Volga sector. However, the push into the factories proved a complete failure; no ground was gained, and the Soviets even recaptured portions of a factory hall through determined counterattacks.

In the Volga sector, the Germans advanced despite heavy casualties, successfully seizing the theater and establishing a tenuous foothold in the Commissar's House. Along the railway embankment's building/rubble there is only some skirmish fighting.

Next day 22 Oct will be an idle day, and both sides bring in reinforcements to fill up their losses and prepare for the on-coming onslaught on the 23rd Oct. The Soviets now realizes that the frontline has almost double in length as the German perimeter have been stretched all down to the south along the railway embankments.

AFTERMATH 23 Oct (6 Turns): After a day of rest and refit. The Germans abandoned their one-hex position in the Commissar's House, withdrawing to defend only the Volga sector. The main German assault was launched against the factory complex and the railway embankments.

German heavy artillery 150+mm directed by spotter plane, pounded the Soviet positions. The intense artillery blasts disorganized the defense: some units abandoned their posts or were destroyed, routing to the rear and leaving neighboring positions to fight without flank support. That were overrunned by German Stosstruppen that advanced in massed formations. Stuka dive-bombers struck any detected Soviet movement and knocked out a newly revealed dug-in T-34 tank.

Several factory halls were cleared, along with other multi-hex stone buildings. German forces entered along the entire western edge and established a new frontline running along the railway embankments. During the advance, the attackers uncovered several previously hidden Soviet tanks that were revealed when stumbled upon. These tanks will need to be dealt with on the following day.

AFTERMATH 24 Oct (6 Turns): In the Volga sector, the German assault faltered badly. A called-in Panzer III L, dispatched to neutralize a dug-in T-70, was instead wrecked by the tenacious Soviet tank. Called in Russian 80+mm artillery and heavy machine-gun fire from the Commissar House mowed down and decimated nearly half a German company, sparking a slow crawl Soviet counterattack. This forced a Stuka to intervene in the defense, while another Panzer III L was sent to silence the MG nest in the Commissar House by eliminating the Russian leader directing the deadly machine gun fire. Something strange happened today, a German squad were burnt alive in a stone building close to the Volga and in the upper level of the theather another German squad Facebook the same fate, The Russians have lost their two FT in the CG, but you might still burn.

In the Bread Factory area and along the railway embankments, the Germans stumbled upon several hidden Soviet troops (527) stalling their advance. However, these threats were soon eliminated, along with two dug-in Russian tanks taken out by a roaming Panzer III L in the vicinity. Suddenly, a Set DC detonated, killing three German squads. At the same moment, multiple artillery blasts in front of the bread factories inflicted severe casualties on the attackers, bringing the once-promising German push to a grinding halt. In response, a Stuka bombing run rubbled a bread factory hex and wiped out three Russian squads inside.

In the factory complex, the main German thrust achieved significant gains, clearing out buildings and a large factory hall. The Soviets fell into full retreat but were often cut down in the process, compelled to fight to the bitter end.

AFTERMATH 25 Oct (6 Turns) The Germans commit their final two rifle companies from the reserve pool, feeding nearly 200 fresh soldiers into the bread factory sector. Advancing blindly, they run straight into a devastating Russian 120mm artillery barrage, and accurate fire from a 76mm long-barreled Art gun. The casualties are horrific. One of the bread factory buildings briefly falls into German hands, only to be recaptured shortly after due to more direct artillery blasts.

In the central factory complex, German assault groups drive the Soviets from the long, narrow factory hall after close-quarters fighting. However, they are unable to press their attack into the adjacent halls, as one of the halls is fully ablaze, blocking the advance.

Along the Volga sector, fighting remains less intense and largely static, with neither side achieving significant breakthroughs.

The Germans gained additional ground on this day, but the price was staggering—paid in buckets of blood.

AFTERMATH 26 Oct (7 Turns) A dual attack start along frontlines, a German Pioneer Company, mounted aboard eight halftracks, surged forward at breakneck speed toward the frontline at the factory complex. An intense battle were already raging there, filled with brutal hand-to-hand melees amid the ruins. As the Pioneers stormed into the factories, they drove the Soviets deeper into retreat. Suddenly, a heavy downpour unleashed from the skies, the Soviets launched a series of fierce local counterattacks, resulting in horrific bloodshed that drenched the roofless halls in crimson and filled the air with the acrid stench of blood mingled with gunpowder—an infernal aroma that choked the senses, that not even the drain could wash away.

In the Volga sector, German defensive positions fell one by one under precise and devastating enemy fire. Seizing the momentum, the Russians immediately pressed an assault toward the Chemist Shop. The Germans fought desperately to hold the line, but they were overwhelmed and eliminated to the last man.

Meanwhile, in the Bread Factory sector, the Germans gained ground, expelling the Russians from multiple buildings and the bread factories themselves through relentless advances.

The toll was staggering: the Germans suffered losses equivalent to two full companies, with officer casualties nearing 70%. They also lost five halftracks that had charged aggressively into the fray, inflicting enemy casualties and a disturbance , before being picked off one after another. The Soviets, in turn, lost the equivalent of four companies. With the next day marking the final Campaign Game day, the Germans' Victory Conditions remain unfulfilled, leaving the outcome hanging in the balance.
