AFTERMATH 17 Oct (6 Turns): The Germans launched a frontal assault along the entire Soviet defensive line. In the railway sector, an active German sniper began to break up the defenses, which were utterly shattered when a Stuka dive-bomb attack eliminated a stack of 30 Russian soldiers. The Stukas arrived early (on a dr of 1). After that, a few surviving Russian defenders fled the scene. Had the turn not ended on round 6, even more terrain would have been lost—though the Germans still captured plenty of Russian support weapons in the sector. The attack toward the factory halls reached their outskirts, despite Russian 70+mm artillery slowed down the advance a hit and burned a Pz IIIL with a critical hit. In the Volga sector, the German assault stalled, largely due to another Russian 70+mm artillery with its scarce ammo (5B/3R), which drew 4 black battery access chits in a row (without ever pulling a red one). Still, the Germans managed to reach the crossroads and capture the light mortar in the stone rubble. The next day, the Germans will surely resume their assault.

AFTERMATH 18 Oct (7 Turns): A mist rolled over the battlefield. The Wehrmacht resumed their assault, surging toward the two northernmost factory halls. After fierce fighting, they secured strong positions in both, forcing the Russians to withdraw under heavy losses. Along the railway embankments, German forces advanced, encountering three hidden T-70 tanks. Once all three were neutralized, the Russians retreated, allowing the Germans to seize control of a nearby building and workshop hall. In the Volga sector, only intermittent skirmishes broke the uneasy calm.

AFTERMATH 19 Oct (7 Turns): The onslaught continues, with the battle turning into a prolonged affair. The Stukas arrive early yet again (on a DR of 1), and the 10-2 Stuka Ace returns to the scene again, and target the Russian .50 cal machine gun nest, which is spraying a deadly volume of fire at the Germans next to the railway embankments. A direct hit from the Stuka's bombs eliminates the position and sets the building ablaze. German artillery pounds the Russian positions in the area as well, allowing the Germans to seize control of several more buildings along the embankments as they proceed farther south. In the factory complex, the battle rages on with substantial losses on both sides, but the Germans make no real advancement. In the Volga sector, the Germans maintain a couple of outposts guarding the area, but all of them are eliminated. As the Russians advance forward, however, the Stukas pinpoint their movement and rake the Soviet soldiers with machine gun fire and bombs.

AFTERMATH 20 Oct (6 Turns): The German assault focused on the vast factory complex. The Soviets mounted fierce, close-quarters resistance within, but when a German pioneer company reinforced the attack—crossing the railway embankments and storming into the factory through doorways, windows, and gates—the defenders were overwhelmed. Hammered by the Germans' professional and relentless combat tactics, the Soviets panicked, routed, and were driven entirely from the 2nd largest hall.

AFTERMATH 21 Oct (7 Turns): The Germans advance further south along the railway embankments, gaining only 100–150 meters before fierce Russian resistance halts the assault. Elsewhere, a German attack toward the Volga succeeds in expanding their perimeter.

In the factory complex, German troops secure a foothold in the northwest corner of the largest hall, forcing the Soviets to retreat behind interior walls. However, in the second-largest hall—previously under German control—the Russians assemble a powerful force and launch a fierce counterattack. The onslaught overwhelms the defenders, enabling the Soviets to seize nearly half of the hall as the Germans are driven back.

AFTERMATH 23 Oct (7 Turns): Following a period of rest and refitting on October 22, a large-scale battle erupts, in misty conditions (3rd day with mist in a week).

The Germans expand their perimeter along the railway embankments and launch a major assault into that sector, pushing toward the Bread Factory area (while further south, the attack on the Red October factory commences). In the central sector, German forces eliminate the remaining pockets of Soviet resistance in the second-largest factory hall. East of the railway embankments, several buildings fall under German control after intense and bloody close-quarters fighting.

In the Volga sector, little significant activity occurs.

AFTERMATH 24 Oct (6 Turns): Another day of ferocious fighting sees the Germans penetrate Soviet lines and push deeper into the factory district.

In the Bread Factory sector, the Russians suffer heavy casualties but ultimately hold their positions, losing only a handful of buildings to the enemy.

In the Volga sector, Soviet troops maintain a strong grip on the Chemist's Shop, and the Germans make no attempt to assault it.

AFTERMATH 25 Oct (6 Turns): The 2nd German Pioneer Company enters the fray.

In the Volga sector, fighting remains sporadic, limited to intermittent bursts of fire.

In the vast factory complex, savage hand-to-hand combat rages, resulting in heavy carnage. German forces successfully clear two factories of Soviet defenders. However, their attempt to secure a foothold in the longest, narrowest factory building fails when an aggressive Russian counterattack routs them completely.

In the Bread Factory area, the Germans grind forward meter by meter amid brutal attrition. Both sides call down intense artillery fire on each other's positions. Several sturdy stone buildings fall to the German assault, and they finally gain a foothold (a hex of two) in one of the four bread factories.

AFTERMATH 26 Oct (6 Turns): The German assault resumed under rainy conditions, accompanied by a torrent of pre-registered artillery fire from two German 80+mm Btln MTR. For the fourth consecutive day, attacks hammered the Bread Factory sector, yielding significant gains: the first of four bread factories fell to German control, with assault teams pushing onward toward the remaining structures.

In the sprawling Central Factory complex, German infantry forced entry into two key halls, where they clashed ferociously with fanatical Soviet defenders. Amid savage close-quarters fighting and heavy bloodshed, the attackers secured a firm foothold in two of the halls.

Along the Volga front, after more than a week of grinding combat, German troops finally gained a toehold in the Chemist Shop—a vital Soviet strongpoint. Several Russian guns were destroyed in he brutal exchange.

With the campaign's final day dawning, both sides contemplated the climax of this Stalingrad inferno.

AFTERMATH 27 Oct (6 Turns): The Germans launched an all-out assault, initially suffering heavy losses before their advance inflicted a devastating toll on desperate Soviet counterattacks. In the Bread Factory sector, two small bakeries fell to the Germans. In the central Factory Halls area, two large halls were cleared, along with the Chemist's Shop near the Volga. Ultimately, the Germans achieved victory over the Soviets.
