AFTERMATH (6 Turns): The Germans enter the area for the first time and assault straight towards the Red Halls. Two artillery modules hammer the central sector at start and the German infantry advance without much opposition behind the artillery screens and mop up the area. Later on both German artillery modules start to blast the Russian defenders in the Volga sector and inflict more casualties and also torch the area and several buildings are set ablaze. About half of the Russian casualties was caused by the artillery, also note that the Offb'd Observers pulled 9 black chits, it seemed that the artillery stock piles were available in abundance. German Casualties: 2 Leaders, 3 Squad-equivalents, 2 SWs. Russian Casualties: 1 Leader, 17 Squad-equivalents, 5 SWs, 1 Gun. The Germans attack along both sides of the railway embankments, and manage to take control of 3 multi-hex stone buildings, despite stiff resistance by the Russians with artillery support. In the factory sector the Germans encounter armed Militia with artillery blasting the Germans as they tried to advance into the largest factory. The onslaught is brutal and supported by two German Btln MTR that call in artillery blasts along the railway embankments and upon the Chemist Shop while the Russian call in OBA in the form of two Lt Arty one in front of the Chemist Shop and the other along the railway embankments. Although, most of the fighting and losses occurred in the Red Halls were the Germans slowly grind forward and pushed deeper into the factory complex. AFTERMATH (6 Turns): 500 Soviet Militia awaits the German assault in the factory halls the slughfest is a carnage half of the Militia perish, the Russian slowly fall back and give ground as the Germans slowly advance 50-100 meter across the factory floor, deeper into the halls, is not much, but much could not be expected due to the massed Soviet formations. The battle ends in a factory hex with two German 548 squads & 238 HS locked in hand-to-hand meele with three Russian 426 squads, the melee ends with all three 426 squads eliminated and the Germans only lost a 238 HS, two field promotions is granted the Germans during the melee as the Germans gets an 8-1 & 8-0 Ldr. AFTERMATH (6 Turns): After several days of hard fighting, the Germans call in a Pionier coy that enter from the west and clear out the building-garage and cross the railway embankments and crushed the defender in the factory workshop countinue towards the large factory hall, and link up with the Germans already there and the German co-ordinate their attack with called in artillery in the hall that score a perfect cluster of explosions the only German Pz IIIL start up and roll forward across the factory floor and cut of the retreat of several Russians that try to keep the Assault Engineers from entering the hall but are cut down to the last man as no retreat path is available to them other that can retreat must run through incoming German artillery shells, the hall is cleared out. A savage battle in the largest factory hall start as both sides blast at each other, but when two Russian Btln Artillery start to pound the Germans, their combat line crumble and they retreat in panic to the rear and the Russian advance after them. but as the other factory falls due to the German Pioniers the pressure is now aimed at the large factory and the Germans push the Russian back. The two-story/hex building is battle over and the Russians lose it to the experienced German troops. at the Volga sector a German Btln MTR offboard artillery bombs the Chemist Shop throughout the battle but only manage to force the Russians to crawl down to the cellar basements. The Germans are building upp a momentum in the area west of the railway embankments (offboard) down to the Bread Factory sector and the Germans may now enter directly into the Bread factory area the next day.
