AFTERMATH 24 Oct (6 Turns): On the 8th day of the struggle in the Barrikady, a dual attack unfolds as the Soviets attempt to stall and disrupt the German advance. In the Volga sector the fighting remains low-intensity: casualties are light and the perimeter stays quite stable, largely thanks to German Stukas that arrive early and prevent any serious Soviet assault—despite the Soviets being stronger in the area. In the factory complex the battle is brutal and bloody. The Germans grind their way forward across the factory floors, expanding their perimeter only slightly through the halls. In the Bread Factory sector a strong German force, supported by Panzers and Stukas, collides with a massed Russian concentration. The clash is extremely bloody, with almost equal losses inflicted on both sides. It is another grinding fight, yet the Germans succeed in gaining some ground and a couple of buildings.
